Dreamiest Cut Episode 011: Take That Crap and Turn it Into Gold

This interview took place over about four hours at Matthew’s house. We both wore masks and his wife stayed in another area. Safety first during Covid. We all know the drill.

He was so excited because that day the house was finally humid enough to tune. I believe it was 40%. Is that a humidity measure?

Records decorate the wall behind the grand piano.

As soon as I walked into Matthew’s living room I was in love. This is so my vibe and esthetic. He told me that they switch out the albums on the wall to change up the look. I love that.

Another look at the albums on the wall. Figurines in the forefront.

I love it when I meet people and I want to scream, “YOU ARE LIKE ME. I AM LIKE YOU. LET’S BE WEIRD TOGETHER!”  I wanted to go look at everything in every nook and cranny. There were several pieces by artists on the walls, awesome little treasures placed throughout the living room.

Matthew plays a selection of his original pieces in this episode as well as a cover or two. Check out Matthew’s Facebook.

And for sure, for sure, for sure, his Patreon.

Matthew’s CD sits in front of Beethoven’s bust.  This may or may not be Beethoven. I’m having a brain moment.

I still need to talk to Matthew about his thoughts of me releasing the other recordings from that day. Stay tuned!

Dreamiest Cut Episode 010: Mail Schmail!

After a year long hiatus, we were able to get back together.

Let’s see. The last episode was November 2019.

December was crazy with end of year busy-ness.

January was …I don’t remember.

February? Who knows!

March was COVID. And everyone’s lives changed. We wanted to get Zoom calls going, etc. Work changed for us. Lives changed for us.

July Cat’s Dad was diagnosed with stage 4 aggressive Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. August 23rd he passed away from organ failure due to chemotherapy.  Cat is still not okay.

October 27th Shane messaged Cat regarding Good Morning Bedlam performing a living room show. Cat replied with something like “I have a small living room, but guess what? I have a pop up shop, I’m a professional photographer, and I have a music podcast”.

GAME ON.

After weeks of discussion and planning, last night Good Morning Bedlam performed a socially distanced, masked up, hand sanitized, etc hour long set at Catherine of the Sea‘s studio.

The feeling of having live music again is something we cannot put into words. Well, actually, we can. Demetrius said, “Fantastic. Soothes my soul. It was much needed, actually.”

To have 9 people at any given time during the night (people came and went) was amazing. Intimate. The crowd (haha) was encouraged to ask questions which was amazing. Cat was able to ask if they were going to play “Devil’s Waltz” which happens to be one of her favorite GMB songs.

There was so much goodness happening in this interview. We can’t wait to check out all of the new music they mentioned for us to check out!

More videos of the night are posted on Cat’s YouTube channel. Once the photos are edited and ready to go Cat will have them posted here. If they’re not up yet, check back soon!

TONIGHT! DECEMBER 10TH! They’re hosting a live show on their Facebook page. They’re taking requests for alllll your wintery needs!

Dreamiest Cut Episode 008: Bacon Pancakes

While Demetrius and Cat were in Seattle, they saw a lot of things, ate a lot of things, did a lot of things, and met a lot of people.

Dreamiest Cut Episode 007: On the Sosh

First off, it’s really hard to know how to spell sosh. It’s short for social media, but soc doesn’t work. Sosch? Soshe? Soch?  Sosh made the most sense to us, so that’s what it is.

Secondly, we’re 2 days late, well, a week and two days? However you want to account for the fact that last week had no episode and Cat is sharing this two days late.

Third, it’s not like the information expires per se.

Fourth, please leave a comment!  We wanna hear from you!

Hey, no one said that the Marie Kondo way of folding would negate an iron.
Whenever Cat reads this she thinks of the old woman in the signing line singing it with an opera voice.

You can check out Cat’s Etsy shop at Catherine of the Sea. She’s horrible at listing things because she feels she can’t come up with a clever listing description. Please tell her she’s overthinking it.

Left to right: Mercer, Carl, and Demetrius. You are missed, Carl.

When we thought about it later, Cat thought of using “familiar” instead of “spirit animal”. Geeks unite!

WE NEED A SIGN OFF! Can anyone think of one?  It’ll probably happen organically.
